AUDITION WITH THE FREDERICK SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
The FSO is seeking qualified musicians to play for the upcoming 2019-2020 season. Auditions will be held on Thursday, August 29th at 7:30 PM at Frederick Community College and rehearsals begin on September 5th, also at Frederick Community College. The Frederick Symphony Orchestra is a semi-professional, community orchestra in residence at Frederick Community College (FCC) in Frederick, MD. The orchestra performs 5 masterworks concert programs annually, as well as 2 spotlight chamber music concerts. The orchestra rehearses Thursday evenings at FCC, September-June.
CURRENT OPENINGS
All available positions are unpaid/voluntary assignments. There are openings in each of the string sections as well as member and substitute openings in the brass and wind sections. We currently have openings in our violin, viola, cello, bass, bassoon, and percussion sections.

- Portions of two contrasting works (can be solos or orchestral excerpts)
- Sight reading
Auditions are held in Room F-145 at Frederick Community College, 7932 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. We will have a representative in the lobby of the Fine Arts Building/JB Kussmaul Theater to help guide you. There are also a few practice rooms that should be available if you’d like to come early.
